Work in India
In the early 1990s when so many doors for global missions were opening in various parts of the world, another door opened for Goodnews Outreach. We became acquainted with World Missionary Evangelism (WME) and the legacy of Dr. John Douglas and his daughter, Yvonne Douglas. Although WME has been in operation for over 50 years in more than 30 countries, perhaps their greatest service has been in the country of India, which was the first foreign mission field that Dr. Douglas visited. WME is strongly committed to meeting the physical needs of people along with spiritual needs.
In India they provide or support:
- Children’s homes
- Schools
- Medical clinics
- Food for hunger centers
- Day cares
- Water wells
- Community projects
- Churches
- Bible schools

At the time when Goodnews Outreach partnered with WME in ministry in India, the national director was the late Dr. Isaac Komanapalli. We were honored to help fund a substantial part of the ongoing ministries that were established by WME in India. The GO board also traveled several times to India to minister in that country that was so needy in the physical realm but so receptive to the Gospel message.
